Locals were treated to a fantastic array of dancing in Great George Square by the Wah Sing Community Centre Dancers and other local dance groups.
The popular firecracker and dragon parade took to the streets on Sunday wowing crowds who enjoyed the spectacle.
Over in the bombed out church and surrounding gardens there was a range of crafts, drummingand storytelling workshops. The drumming was particularly popular with young and old alike!
With many of the City Centre roads closed for the event, crowds were able to enjoy the family friendly event which becomes more popular each year.
The celebrations continued into the evening with local landmarks such as St Georges Hall, Radio City and the bombed-out church lighting up red to mark the beginning of the year of the pig.

Chinese New Year continues to allow the Liverpool Chinese Community to share their cultural traditions with the rest of Merseyside.
