Liverpool Record Shop nominated for independent retailer of the year at this years Music Week awards
Jacaranda records in Liverpool have been nominated for Independent Retailer of the year at this year's Music Week awards.
The Music Week awards celebrate the great and the good of the music industry.
Jacaranda records, based on Slater Street, is not only home to a thriving record shop it also boasts a bar, live venue, record label and recording studio, making it a unique music making venue.

The venue also has a Beatles connection, with it once being owned by Allan Williams, who managed the band in the early days and would ask John Lennon and Paul McCartney to paint murals on the basement walls where the band would rehearse and play gigs.
Jacaranda records is the only record shop in the north-west to be nominated for independent retailer of the year.
Speaking of the nomination, Managing Director Graham Stanley said: “the recognition of that initial concept which was all about selling records and putting people in a community space ,where they can buy records, listen to bands and come and drink, to have that concept validated by this prestigious award would be amazing.”

Jacaranda Records also takes part in Record Store Day, a worldwide event that celebrates independent records shops. Record store day allows fans to buy limited-edition records.
The record label side of the Jacaranda already has three artists signed, these being Split, Shards and Aimee Steven.
Artists signed to the label can record, sell and perform their music all in the same building, something which is rare for record shops to offer.
The Music Week awards will be held on 6th May in London.
